Prototypes and small series — from design to working hardware

BE-IIS develops and industrializes custom electronics and coordinates PCB fabrication, assembly and bring-up for prototypes and small series.

Prototypes and small series — from design to working hardware

Do you have an electronics idea, a working prototype or a design that needs to become dependable hardware? BE-IIS can develop the board with you, adapt an existing design or help turn your design into a manufacturable product.

BE-IIS supports the technical path from design through first assembled boards and bring-up. PCB fabrication and assembly are part of that work.

Engineering services

  • define the circuit and interface requirements with you,
  • design or adapt a board, including schematics and PCB layout,
  • review an existing design for manufacturability and testability,
  • select components with availability, lifecycle and cost in mind,
  • review the BOM and choose suitable alternatives,
  • prepare and review production and assembly data,
  • coordinate PCB fabrication and assembly with manufacturing partners,
  • clarify technical questions from manufacturing,
  • bring up and test the first boards, then feed the results back into the design.

Linux drivers, Device Tree integration and system bring-up can also be part of the project where needed.

From first prototype to repeatable small series

A typical project starts with a prototype or an existing BE-IIS HAT as a reference. Together with the customer, BE-IIS defines the interfaces, mechanics, power supply, expected quantities and test criteria, then handles design, manufacturing preparation and first-board validation.

This approach is especially useful for first prototypes, pilot runs and recurring small batches. The scope depends on the product and its validation requirements.

BE-IIS works with PCB fabrication and assembly partners. They produce the boards; BE-IIS handles the electronics engineering and technical coordination.

Information for the first discussion

A short description of the application and planned quantity is enough for a first discussion. If a design already exists, please include any available schematics, layout or Gerber files, BOM and information about connectors, mechanics and power supply.

Discuss your prototype or small series. The necessary engineering and manufacturing steps can then be defined.
